Our LadiesCon 2020 special guests are professionals we invited to join us at LadiesCon. They appeared throughout the convention on various online panels.
Ming Doyle
Ming was born in Boston in the Fall of 1984 to an Irish American sailor and a Chinese Canadian librarian. In the Fall of 1991 she saw a million ducks and predicted the Harry Potter franchise's formula for success with startling accuracy. She has worked on titles including The Banks, Constantine, DC’s Anatomy of a Metahuman, and The Kitchen, now a major motion picture. She is currently working on art all night and every day and would probably love an espresso. This will be Ming’s fifth appearance at LadiesCon.
Ngozi Ukazu
Ngozi Ukazu is a New York Times bestselling author and the creator of Check, Please!, an online graphic novel whose printing campaign remains the most funded webcomics Kickstarter ever. She graduated from Yale University in 2013 with a degree in Computing and The Arts, and received a masters in Sequential Art in 2015 from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Erica Henderson
Erica Henderson is a comic creator best known for The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Jughead. She's the winner of two Eisner Awards. Erica has lectured internationally and at Harvard University on making comics. Her upcoming book, Dracula Motherf**ker comes out October 3rd!
Tana Ford
Tana Ford is the 2020 Eisner and Hugo award winning comic book artist of LaGuardia with writer Nnedi Okorafor. The first time Tana teamed up with Nnedi was to create a Venomized Black Panther in Marvel's Secret Empire. Tana has drawn for New Warriors, The Amazing Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, Jem & the Holograms, and Gwenpool, though she is perhaps best known for her work on Marvel's Silk starring Cindy Moon. This is Tana’s second LadiesCon appearance.
Kristen Gudsnuk
Kristen Gudsnuk is a comics writer and illustrator. She got her start with the webcomic Henchgirl, which was later published by Scout Comics in single issue and Dark Horse Comics as a collection. Her other works include the middle grade graphic novels Making Friends and Making Friends: Back to the Drawing Board from Scholastic Books. Kristen also provided illustrations for Modern Fantasy, a miniseries from Dark Horse (written by Rafer Roberts). Gudsnuk also illustrated the VIP series by Jen Calonita, published by Little, Brown. This is her third Ladies Con.
Mad Rupert
Mad Rupert is a comic artist and writer. She has been neck-deep in the online comics scene for over 10 years, and authors two ongoing webcomics. She has also worked with many comic publishers, including First Second, Boom! Studios, and Oni Press, on projects ranging from comic adaptations of popular cartoons to original graphic novels. When she's not making comics, Mad enjoys spending time with her husband and small angry dog, going to the gym, and playing Minecraft. She is most active on Twitter, where you can find links to most of her comics and content.
Mildred Louis
Mildred Louis is a freelance comic artist and illustrator based out of Los Angeles and founder of Astrea’s Nexus Studio. In addition to her online series Agents of the Realm, Mildred has provided illustration work for Invader Zim and Rick and Morty: Lil’ Poopy Superstar.
Stephanie Mided
Stephanie Mided is a comic creator and illustrator from Chicago who loves all things colorful, comedic, and cute! She is the artist for the upcoming graphic novel Martian Ghost Centaur due out in 2021 from Oni Press.
